Antigua and Barbuda
The islands of Antigua and Barbuda were discovered in 1493, when they were named by Christopher Columbus as Antique which means old.
It has gone through various stages of colonialism and warfare and currently has a population of 98,000.
1. This small island is inhabited by a number of Caribbeans. It consists of three islands, Antigua, Barbuda and Redondo, but the two islands are named after Antigua and Barbuda, and are a very small island, 22 km long and 18 km wide.
2. The official language of this island is English, where there are also other languages spoken.
3. The highest fist on the island was named after President Obama in 2009.
4. As an island it should also be noted that there are no rivers in between.
5. But it has many of the most beautiful beaches in the world with 365 beaches.
5. The official leadership of the country is the Prime Minister Gaston Browne who has been in power since 2014.
