Khamis bin Ramthan was born in the city of Al-Ahsa. He was famous for the legend of the desert because of his many experiences.
He had an ordinary life and worked in the great desert as a broker from the south of the kingdom to its north. He had a strong sense of preservation and it was offered to him by Prince Abdullah bin Al-Jalawi
Work as an oil exploration officer Khamis bin Ramthan worked with the geologist American Max Steinke.
After attempts to search and excavate lasted 5 years with the help of Khamis Ramthan, the first oil field was reached s pecifically in 1938 and was named Dammam well later, the name was changed by order of King Abdullah in 1959.
Khamis Ramthan died of a terminal illness in 1974, Aramco named one of the fields after him in recognition of his important contributions.Thus, the legend of the desert, Khamis bin Ramthan.
Later Saudi Arabia has made the discovery of oil an ascetic economic era and a promising future vision for future generations.
